Prepare for shipping

Pack

To pack orders you will need to either enter an existing container or create a new one from packing-material and it's weight and weight-unit. You will also need to enter the product and quantity you will want to pack in that container/packing-material. If a container is picked and packed then you are not allowed to put other items in there.

How to Pack

  • Using existing packing material (CONTAINER)
    1. If Packing Material is already available in the system, enter/scan the container id and select it from the drop down.
    2. Fill in an available Tote
    3. Select the Product (pre-populated) to Pack
    4. Fill in a Serial Number (if applicable)
    5. Fill in a Quantity (qty is 1 by default if a Serial Number is entered))
    6. Fill in a LOT (if applicable)
    7. Fill in an Expiry Date (if applicable)
    8. Click Pack

    Note: Order Line will remain in State processing, while the Order Line Item(s) are updated to Packed as well as the Packing Material (Container).

pack_existing_packing_material

  • Using new packing material (PACKING MATERIAL)
    1. If there is no Packing Material available select a Packing Material from the drop-down
    2. Enter an available Tote
    3. Select the Product (pre-populated) to Pack
    4. Fill in a Serial Number (if applicable)
    5. Fill in a Quantity (qty is 1 by default if a Serial Number is entered))
    6. Fill in a LOT (if applicable)
    7. Fill in an Expiry Date (if applicable)
    8. Click Pack

Note: Order Line will remain in State processing, while the Order Line Item(s) are updated to Packed as well as the Packing Material (Container), for which a new label is printed.

pack_new_packing_material

  • Using already packed material (LICENSE PLATE)
    1. If the items picked, already packed in packing material enter the License Plate
    2. Fill in an available Tote
    3. Select the Product (pre-populated) to Pack
    4. Fill in a Serial Number (if applicable)
    5. Fill in a Quantity (qty is 1 by default if a Serial Number is entered))
    6. Fill in a LOT (if applicable)
    7. Fill in an Expiry Date (if applicable)
    8. Click Pack

Note: Order Line will remain in State processing, while the Order Line Item(s) are updated to Packed as well as the Packing Material (Container), for which a new label is printed. pack_already_packed_material

  • Already packed inventory item(s) in an over-box.
    1. If the item(s) picked, already packed in packing material enter/scan the License Plate of the inventory item
    2. Fill in an existing CONTAINER (over-box) or generate and print a new container-label by selecting a PACKING MATERIAL (over-box)
    3. Fill in an available Tote
    4. Select the Product (pre-populated) to Pack
    5. Fill in a Serial Number (if applicable)
    6. Fill in a Quantity (qty is 1 by default if a Serial Number is entered))
    7. Fill in a LOT (if applicable)
    8. Fill in an Expiry Date (if applicable)
    9. Click Pack

Additional Info

ADD TO OPEN SHIPMENT

Add to open Shipments enables to ship partially. If disabled packages will be linked to separate Shipments.

CONTAINER

Packing material using an existing container id.

PACKING MATERIAL

Generate a new Container by selecting pre-populated packing material.

WEIGHT

Weight value derived from the Packing Materials attributes page.

WEIGHT UNIT

Weight Unit value derived from the Packing Materials attributes page.

WIDTH

Width value derived from the Packing Materials attributes page.

HEIGHT

Height value derived from the Packing Materials attributes page.

DIMENSIONS UNIT

Dimensions value derived from the Packing Materials attributes page.

TOTE

There can be multiple totes per order, but a tote can only contain one order.

LICENSE PLATE

Belongs to a container (optional) or belongs to an inventory_item (optional).

PRODUCT

Ordered product pre-populated.

QUANTITY

Number of Products to be packed. Will default to 1 if a sn is entered.

SERIAL NUMBER

Depending on the serialization on the Product, a Serial Number field is displayed as a mandatory or optional field.

  • Disabled, it will not display the Serial Number field
  • Full, it will display the Serial Number field as mandatory
  • Outbound, it will display the Serial Number as a mandatory field
  • None, the field will be displayed as an optional or mandatory field
    • If a Serial Number is registered and there is no stock available without a registered serial number the Serial Number field is mandatory
    • If a serial number is registered and there is stock available without a serial number, it will be an optional field. While Packing, it will swap these units and visa versa
      LOT

      Depending on the product setup a LOT field is displayed as a mandatory or optional field.

  • When you enter a serial number that is known in the system you do not need to enter lot
  • While the serial number is unknown (e.g. Serialized - Outbound products) this field becomes a mandatory field
EXPIRES AT
  • When you enter a serial number that is known in the system you do not need to enter an expiry date
  • While the serial number is unknown (e.g. Serialized - Outbound products) this field becomes a mandatory field
