How To Configure Settings

Introduction

An explanation is available for each Setting to elaborate on its responsibility. This page is intended to explore the behavior in general and is divided into the following sections.

System default

Some settings require a default value that could be for example a boolean true or false, a time notation or packaging material, to e.g. auto allocation yes or no, determine a carrier pick-up time at 11:00am or even set a Euro Pallet as packaging material.

The Level of each setting indicates if the default is used when it reads '0'. This means that nothing is configured. The actual default value is described, within the setting itself.

General settings level

Note from the picture above, nothing is configured for the settings Default carrier and Split shipping.

Create and update

Creating or updating a setting could only be submitted per line.

General settings sorting

Related to the screen above, if for example the destination country has been modified for both lines, it will only Save the line amended first and it will rollback the change from the other line as this is not submitted.

WARNING! Creating an additional line, will automatically move to the top and be used as the first rule.

Drag & drop

Settings could be re-ordered using this General settings drag & drop drag & drop symbol.
Referring to the screen above, Shipping: default delivery terms, the following outcome applies:

  1. Delivery terms - blank is set,if the destination country is not Netherlands and the order type is a Sales Order.
  2. Delivery terms - EXW - Ex Works is set, if the destination country is Netherlands and order type is a Sales Order.
  3. Delivery terms - blank is set, if the destination country is not Netherlands for any other order type than Sales Order.
  4. Delivery terms - FCA- Free Carrier is set, if the destination country is Netherlands and not a Sales Order.

Changing the sequence in which the rules are set up affects the determination of the result. The configuration below ensures that the delivery terms EXW - Ex Works can never be set.

One many or all

Using the example above from the Shipping: Default delivery terms, where no Location Id value is selected, it applies to all (available and accessible) locations, however many (available and accessible) locations could be configured, one per line. Another example as shown below.

General settings sorting

The setting could be configured for one product, many product per line or for all products, leaving the Product Id blank.
