Multiple products per container

Inventory Configuration Rules

Multiple products per container

Allow multiple products in a container, the default for this setting is inherited from the closest set ancestor. The system default is true. If no Location_ID is configured, it will apply to all locations associated with that account for which it is configured.

Multiple products per container

Enabling this setting affects the processes; receive, put, merge, adjust(+) and update inventory item, where we validate if the product, lot and expiry data content of the container matches the product(s) added to the container.

Multiple products in a container has no effect on the pack process. During shipping, it is allowed to mix products when a container is a parcel. The limitation applies per container, you can have a pallet with boxes where each box has a different product.

WARNING! An important thing to note is that we cannot prevent containers from holding different products 100% of the time, there will be situations where you will be able to get containers with too many products in them (for example when you receive a container that was shipped by another location). The system will prevent you from putting more products in those containers though, so the users could split those containers up and then work with them as they normally would.
